VisitMonaco, led by Benoit Badufle, successfully held its annual South East Asia roadshow in Seoul and in Taipei for the second time since November 2016. Following a successful collaboration with Vogue Taiwan, the 2018 roadshow focused on engaging the media and travel trade of both cities with the luxurious itinerary of Chinese /Taiwanese cover star Lin Chi-ling. Miss Lin Chi-ling’s sojourn in Monaco was highly promoted on social media in many parts of Asia, and guests in Taipei were greatly impressed.

Held at the iconic W Taipei, the presentations centered around Lin Chi-ling and her itinerary in Monaco, including the Monte-Carlo Beach Hotel, Casino de Monte-Carlo, Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort and Monaco Ville amongst many. Using videos from Vogue and the final photos published in the August 2017 issue of the magazine, guests followed her journey from Nice Cote d’Azur International Airport, taking the helicopter to Monaco and then ferried to the hotels in Monaco in super limousines.

The presentation also focused on the new theme of ‘Green is the New Glam’, showing the guests of the various green initiatives led by the country, the green practices and the green technologies birthed by change-makers in the country.

As for the ‘Monaco Day’ in Seoul, the event took place at newly established Seoul Dragon City, a multi-purpose complex housing 4 AccorHotels brands, restaurants, a shopping arcade and on the 31st floor, sits the Sky Kingdom, a contemporary bar and restaurant that is becoming the newest and hottest hangout spot in Korea. It is also the location where the presentations and videos of Monaco were shown to the guests, a premiere for the Seoul tourism community.

Using a nautical theme, the presentation in Seoul focused on promoting Monaco as the jewel of the French Riviera, emphasizing on the sea and the sun as the destination for luxury-seeking Korean travelers. Likewise, ‘Green is the New Glam’ was introduced to the guests in Seoul to promote Monaco as an environmentally-conscious and friendly destination.
